Forza Motorsport Low FPS and FPS Drop: Why and How to Solve it?

Forza Motorsport is the crowned king of Racing Games in the industry. Turn 10 Studios has been pushing its limits with each Forza Game and players have had no trouble, not even dropping any FPS while gaming. But, with the release of the recent Forza Motorsport, players suddenly had Low FPS and FPS Drops. While the previous games did amazing, Forza 8 had issues.

Not to worry because we have here some methods that will help you increase your FPS and fix those Low FPS Drops that have been getting on your nerves lately.

Why is Forza Motorsport Showing Low FPS?

It is an in-game issue that causes the Forza Motorsport to Drop FPS considerably. While the real issue is known, some have found a temporary fix to go around it.

When the official fix be released? We don’t know exactly, but looking at the past performance of Forza Developers, we know for sure that a path will roll out that will fix these issues.

How to Fix Forza Motorsport Low FPS and FPS Drop?

Alt+Enter Temporary Fix

When you start having FPS Drop in Forza Motorsport, you will have to shift between tabs by pressing Alt+Enter. This will temporarily fix the Low FPS issue, but you will have to do it the next the you again have Low FPS.

Dynamic Resolution Scale

As per most players, the Forza Motorsport Dynamic Resolution is wrongly titled. The functionality was supported to be a resolution scaling, but it is separated from the actual scaling of resolution.

In Forza Motorsport, the scaling is as follows;

  • 4k for Ultra
  • 1440p for High
  • 1080p for Medium
  • 720p for Low

Therefore, when you put the game in the 1080p Resolution, it is automatically going to make the game run on Medium Performance. This is not balanced in the game and doesn’t work as intended.

Turning Off Ray Tracing

You can get an FPS Boost in Forza Motorsport by simply turning the ray tracing setting off in the options. This disables the Ray Tracing Light Feature in the game meant for RTX users, in exchange for some extra FPS.

Lower Graphics Preset

In the settings, you can lower the custom setting preset to what you are playing the game on. When you are on higher settings, the game will run on Lower FPS.

As it is a performance nightmare because of a newer engine, Forza Motorsport is bound to drop FPS based on your in-game settings. So, lowering them will result in your getting a better performance.

Summary

Forza Motorsport is the latest game in the Forza Series, on a newer and much latest engine. The graphics are also spectacular to watch, but the real fuss around the gaming community is its performance. Players are comparing it to the Forza 5, or even the Forza 4, but the game is on a different base. Temporarily, there are a few things you can try to Fix Forza Motorsport Low FPS, or FPS Drop like Alt+Enter when FPS starts crashing, Lowering Graphics, and turning Off Ray Tracing.

The Forza Development team is working on a patch to fix the issue and resolve these performance issues once and for all, but it will take some time. Similarly, there is an issue of Forza Motorsport Controller Not Working as well.
