Breaking Bad is one of the most successful TV series and turned Bryan Cranston, Bob Odenkirk, and Giancarlo Esposito into respectable figures in the television space. Now, there is good news for the die-hard fans of Breaking Bad, a spin-off show is in the works. Breaking Bad already has a spin-off show based on Bob Odenkirk’s conscienceless lawyer, Better Call Saul which became a blockbuster spin-off show. That is Giancarlo Esposito wants a spin-off series based on Gustavo Fring.
Gustavo Fring was a drug leader who hid his crimes behind a chicken restaurant, Esposito also reprised his role as Gus in Better Call Saul, but Esposito has always expressed his desire for a dedicated series based on Gus’s character. He wants the antagonist Gus to have his spin-off TV series where we can see the character’s past.
Why fans have mixed feelings for the spin-off series?
Fans of Breaking Bad have mixed feelings about Esposito’s proposal of a spin-off TV series. While the idea of a spin-off on Gus might seem interesting, there is also a risk of Gustavo Fring losing his character’s auro and magmatism. Some fans have expressed that they do not want Breaking Bad to become an MCU-like universe.
Well… watch Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul? There is no reason for a Gus show. Please don’t make this into a MCU-like universe. I beg you to not do it

Some fans want to see more of Jesse and how his life in Alaska is going. El Camino gave us an insight into what happened to Jesse after Breaking Bad ended. But, still, there is more that can be explored when it comes to Jesse and his new life in Alaska.
I don’t want a Gus prequel. He’s better a bit more mysterious. Maybe a Jesse series in Alaska? Maybe Better Call Saul meets Northern Exposure.

Regardless of the Mixed feelings, Esposito is positive that his chilling character Gus should get a dedicated series. The actor has done a remarkable job of portraying the calculative drug lord on the screen. So, a spin-off series on Gus might not be an entirely bad idea.
