Cyberpunk 2.0 was supposed to be the original Cyberpunk at the time of release, but unfortunately, devs messed up. No worries, we have the Phantom Liberty DLC right here, and the game gives you a total of 5 different endings. Here we have all the details on whether to Help Songbird or Help Reed in Phantom Liberty.
Phantom Liberty AKA Cyberpunk 2.0 is the latest update for the Cyberpunk game, bringing the actual things that the community wanted in the first one. This time, the graphics are much better, the bugs/glitches are removed, police AI is smarter, and that beautiful stealth gameplay takes it to another level.
Taking place in the deadliest part of the area known as Night City, the president of New United States of America was shot dead. It takes place well after the original game, continuing the Keanu Reeves ark without him, and putting Idris Elba as the main character.
You are “V”, a Cyberpunk for hire in the city, who is here to make a connection between the black market mercenaries and the higher powers. NUSA sleeper Solomon Reed and Johnny Silverhand are here to help you out, unveiling the world you have never seen before.
Fighting powerful mercenaries, jumping buildings, doing stealth, making decisions, and using high-fi equipment to do various missions, contracts, gigs, and jobs. While it might be so, the storyline takes you into a peak Cyberpunk 2077 Experience.
There are various endings in the game and depend vastly on whom you side with or which choice you take. Here in this guide, we got you covered with whether to Help Songbird or Help Reed in Phantom Liberty
Save Songbird or Kill Her!
At the end of the Firestarter mission, you have to either take sides with the Songbird or with Reed.
- If you help Songbird escape, then “I am with you”
- If you side with Reed and help capture Songbird, then “One more second”
Songbird Escaped – Killing Moon Mission
If you help Songbird escape, you will get a final mission known as “The Killing Moon”. Clear the port so that she can escape using the shuttle that takes her to the facility lunar. But, you do get a hint upon riding the train that she might be the liar here. She was just using V as a lure to get the cure, just for herself. Furthermore, there are going to be various options.
- Pick Songbird, select “Time to Go”, or “Wake the Hell up”
- You can call Reed, as “Reed will take care of you”
Pick up Songbird and carry her to the shuttle to get the ending. There are further two things here.
- Reed will warn you, and shoot you dead if you keep walking toward him
- If you don’t lay down Songbird by listening to Reed and refusing, then he will have to kill you, giving the same outcome.
If you lay down Songbird, then the holster weapon option will appear but will give up Songbird in return. Select the Draw Weapon option to aim and shoot him in a few seconds.
Reed is going to give you some time like 3 seconds to give up, or he is going to finish you off.
So, on the contrary, you can either save Songbird by killing Reed if he asks you to put Songbird down, or you can just kill Reed and save Songbird.
If you kill Reed, you will get Pariah – Reed’s Iconic Weapon in Cyberpunk 2.0 Phantom Liberty DLC.
If you pick the particular arc, V is not going to find a cure, but you will get back to the Night City in Phantom Liberty. The base game ending is going to play out here meeting with Hanako Arasaka.
Giving up Songbird
To get the Phantom Liberty ending, you will have to give up Songbird and help Reed instead. There are three ways this can play out;
- On the train call Reed, and give up Songbird
- Pick Songbird and choose Standoff, while selecting the option to talk to Reed
- Choose Holster Weapon and then “All yours but you will help me live on”
In these options, Reed is going to take the Songbird to the transport from NUSA, and you are going to make sure that he keeps you safe in return.
It will unlock a different type of ending to the game, which is different from the basic ending of Cyberpunk 2.0. As a matter of fact, you won’t have to go through the Nocturne OP55N1 and Arasaka HQ.
Songbird Captured – Somewhat Damaged Mission
Now, on the contrary, if you help Reed get hold of the Songbird by capturing her in the Firestarter, then you will get a new final ending. It will have the following;
- Take the MaxTac forces who are there to save Songbird; Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos
- Enter the Cynosure Facility and get around the robot, finding the Erebus Weapon blueprint, as well as Militech Canto MK6 Cyberware; Somewhat Damaged Mission
At the end of the latter one, you will find Songbird hiding in the core. She is weak and you have a choice of either killing Songbird or sparing Songbird.
These are all the details on whether to Help Songbird or Help Reed in Phantom Liberty Cyberpunk 2.0.
