Meta released a new version of WhatsApp with the Channels Feature, a one-way broadcast, on September 13, 2023. Some liked the update, while others were frustrated by the new design. If you are one of those individuals who are not feeling themselves with the latest Channels Integration, we have here steps on How to Remove WhatsApp Channel Updates Option.
How to Remove WhatsApp Channel Updates Option
There is only one way to Remove the WhatsApp Channel Update, and it is to get an older version of WhatsApp. Keep in mind that the method we are going to share only works on devices that can roll back to an older version of WhatsApp, or download an APK file, such as Android.
Make WhatsApp Data Backup
Before you proceed with the steps on Removing Channel Updates, you need to make a backup of your WhatsApp Data.
- Open WhatsApp
- Press on 3 Dots
- Go to Settings
- Then Chat and Chat Backup
- Backup your data
Delete WhatsApp
Now, you will have to uninstall the WhatsApp you are using with the Channels Updates integrated.
- Go to Smartphone Settings
- Head over to Apps
- Find WhatsApp and Press on it
- Press on Uninstall
Get WhatsApp APK
Download a previous version of WhatsApp without the Channels Update. The feature launched on September 13th, so you need to download a version before that like September 9th or 8th.
- Open Browser like Chrome and Firefox
- Go to the WhatsApp Uptodown Link
- Download WhatsApp APK before September 13
- Open WhatsApp
- Fill information
WhatsApp Channels were not available on all the platforms on the same date. So September 13th was the official Channels Confirmation date from Meta.
Summary
WhatsApp introduced a new way of getting news and coverage from favorite networks, known as Channels. While it does provide something useful, users are not taking the update positively. It gives you senseless updates and fills up the WhatsApp Status Page. You can just install an older version through WhatsApp APK before September 13th and Remove WhatsApp Channel Updates Option.
