Netflix’s That 90’s show dropped this week on the streaming platform. The series is a spin-off of “that 70’s show” released in 1998. Netflix has not announced anything about season 2 of the series yet. However, Netflix is looking for a hit sitcom after the success of “The Ranch” starring Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson.
The spin-off show is created by the original creators Gregg Mettler, Bonnie Turner, Lindsey Turner, and Terry Turner. That 90’s show follows Leia Forman and her stay in Point Place, WI when she visits her grandparents Kitty and Red.
Release Date
It is too early to say anything about the renewal status of the series. Also, Netflix has canceled many sitcoms in the past so it all depends on viewership. Also, the series is trending in the top 10 on Netflix and also received a good score of 72% on rotten tomatoes.
But, If Netflix decides to renew the show for season 2, it might hit the streaming platform in January 2024.
That 90’s show Season 2 Plot
Season one ended with a cliffhanger when Leia almost kissed Nate, who is Jay’s best friend and is also dating Nikki. But, before anything could happen between the two, Nate’s sister Gwen walked on them. Leia will come to stay with her grandparents on the Holidays. Also, Kitty is like a godmother to Leia’s friends and allowed them to use the basement anytime they want and Red was not delighted by the idea because now he will have to deal with a new generation of “dumbasses”.
Also, we might see more of Eric in That 90’s show season 2 as he was away at camp. Eric will be back to bond with his daughter.

Fans want to know if the original cast members will be coming back for cameos. Danny Masterson’s Steven Hyde did not appear and was mentioned by any of the characters. The actor was charged and arrested for raping three women in different incidents from 2001 to 2003, the actor denied all the allegations and pled not guilty on November 2020. However, the jurors were unable to come to any decision and the retrial is scheduled for March, according to E! news.
Conclusion
Netflix is notorious for canceling its sitcoms. Disjointed, one day at a time, all about the Washington, Friends from college, and many more got canceled. But, That 90’s show will be revived for season 2 or not all depends on the viewership.
