In JJK 243, we finally got to witness the showdown between Kenjaku and Takaba, resulting in the loss of Takaba, but it wasn’t a win for Kenjaku as well. While he was happy fighting Takaba and finishing him, Yuta was preparing for a final blow on Kenjaku, cutting his head right off from the Geto’s body. At the end we also witness Takaba lying on the floor in a white robe, but due to him, Kenjaku wasn’t able to sense Yuta’s attack. So, does it mean Takaba is dead in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 243 or not?
Death of Takaba
At the end of JJK Chapter 242, we got a sneak peek at the death of Takaba, which was already known amongst the Anime fans because Kenjaku is on a different level after all.
Takaba was playing a Culling game with Kenjaku, which requires two comedians on the stage, partners, playing together to make the community laugh.
The goal of Takaba was just to get that partnership done with Kenjaku, which he did, making him accomplish his goals, and as a result, lose to Kenjaku.
After the fight, we see Takaba wearing a white robe, lying on the floor at his death bed. As a compliment, Kenjaku also mentioned that it was a fun time.
Yuta cutting Kenjaku’s Head (Geto’s Body)
As Kenjaku himself doesn’t have a body and takes someone else as his host, he was using Geto’s body here.
Just as Kenjaku defeated Takaba and got out of the zone, he witnessed Yuta preparing a massive sword attack and slicing his head right off the body.
Kenjaku is a brain after all, meaning after slicing the neck, he was still alive and pretty well, but lost his host, Geto.
How did Kenjaku not notice Yuta?
Yuta is not a typical sorcerer, as he is one of the few strongest Cursed Technique users in the series, and also right next to Gojo, as the strongest sorcerer.
But, Kenjaku can sense others, and why didn’t he sense Yuta here? Well, Kenjaku wasn’t able to sense Yuta’s Attack because of Takaba, as he was the bait all along, and he also knew that.
Is Takaba Dead in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 243?
Yes, Takaba is dead in JJK 243, as we also witnessed in the end when he was lying on the floor with flowers and a white robe. He accomplished his task of having a Culling Comedy Floor with Kenjaku.
Also, when after Kenjaku’s was cut by Yuta, we witnessed Kenjaku noticing it. If Takaba was alive, he wouldn’t notice it because of the Culling Game technique.
