The most awaited episode, JJK Episode 42 is finally here. The episode was delayed on streaming platforms in Japan. However, the episode aired at the scheduled time on Crunchyroll. The Episode begins with Yuji moving toward Shibuya station and Nanami dreaming about a vacation to Malaysia while fighting the transfigured humans.
Nanami was already badly hurt and burnt because of his fight against Dagon. Jogo appeared after their fight and burnt Nanami. Even though Nanami is strong, he was at his limit.
Out of nowhere, Mahito appears and touches the back of Nanami. Mahito asks “Wanna chat, we go way back after all”. Nanami says “I didn’t know you were here”.
Nanami realizes he is going to die any moment and he starts seeing his best friend who died “Yu Haibara“. Nanami asks him what is he suppose to do.
Itadori appears and says shockingly “Nanami” coz of his state and the danger Nanami is in. Illusion of his friend Haibara points towards Yuji. Nanami says “Itadori it’s up to you now.” Mahito then blows the upper half of Nanami.
Yuji in a state of anger charges toward Mahito but Mahtio creates a transfigured human shield that says “help me”. Yuji couldn’t punch the transfigured human not realizing that Mahito is now playing with Yuji.
Yuji manages to land some punches on Mahito. Mahito then merges the transfigured humans and creates something to press Yuji. Yuji even in a corner manages to do the famous kick of JJK on Mahito. Mahito also manages to slash Yuji’s face in the battle.
Mahito then realizes something and runs off. Yuji starts following him and finds two humans there walking. They tell Yuji that monsters are roaming he should get out. Yuji, not knowing, that Mahito is hiding in one of the humans, lets his guard down and Mahito comes out of the mouth of one human and punches Yuji then runs away again.
Meanwhile, a double of Mahito has engaged Nobara and Nobara realizes who Mahito is. Nobara managed to slightly damage Mahito’s double using her hairpin technique.
JJK Episode 42 Review
The latest episode of JJK, adapting chapters 120-122, brought intense battles and heartfelt moments to the screen. The animation and fight sequences were top-notch, especially during Yuji’s clash with Mahito. The adaptation deviated slightly from the manga, but it added a unique flair to the action.
In this episode, we witnessed Yuji’s incredible strength, a testament to his prowess even though he’s taking a backseat in the manga. Nanami’s confrontation with Mahito was emotional and gripping, highlighting the stakes of the conflict.
The tension escalated as Mahito played mind games with both Yuji and Nobara, showcasing his cunning tactics. Nobara’s quick thinking and skill with her hairpin added a thrilling dimension to the battle against Mahito’s double.
