Netflix is working on a new project “Korean Money Heist”. The show is going to be based on La Casa da Papel, a Spanish show, also known as “Money Heist” on Netflix. Money heist was originally canceled in Spain but saved by Netflix. The show’s season 4 had 64 million views in the second week of its release. However, the show has become a massive hit all around the globe. It makes sense why Korean wants a show of their own.
Netflix is going to make a Korean Money Heist a reality. Alex Pina, who is the creator of Money Heist, is going to be an executive producer for the upcoming Korean show. He seems excited about the upcoming project. He said his in an interview recently;
“Korean creators have been developing their own language and audiovisual culture for years,” said Pina. “They have managed, like our series, to go beyond cultural borders and become a point of reference for thousands of viewers around the world, especially among young people. That is why I find it fascinating that the world of La Casa De Papel is so attractive to Korean creators as to do an adaptation. The fact that the action is set on the Korean Peninsula also seems to me to be a milestone which I am really delighted about.”
Korean Money Heist Plot
There is not much released about the plot of the series yet. But, if the creator of Money Heist is involved, then surely the series will focus on the theme of the original show. In Money heist, a group of outlaws teams up with a mastermind known as “The Professor” to conduct two heists. The plot of the original show is thrilling and exciting to watch. However, it is not known yet if they would change a theme a little or it will be completely based on the original show.
Director
Kim Hong-sun is going o be the director of the series. He is well known for his shows like The Guest, voice, and black. He is also excited to be a part of the project. Korean series is getting popular in America as well and because of Netflix different series from different countries are getting the international fame they deserve.
Release date of Korean Money Heist
There is no news about the release date of the Korean Money Heist. It is hard to say when his series will release as it is in the early stages of development. It is hard to say anything about the release date of the show yet because of the pandemic. We might not get the show before 2022.
