Wednesday proved to be a hit for the streaming company as it accumulated watch-time of 752,000,000 million hours. Netflix’s Wednesday has an 8.1 rating on IMBd and a 71% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show also managed to break records of Netflix’s previous big releases like Monster: A Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Ginny and Georgia, and Bridgerton.
Tim Burton’s directorial debut Wednesday follows the life of a morbidly fascinated daughter, Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts where she fights werewolves and monsters.

MGM production company is sold to Amazon for 8.5 million dollars. So, Amazon has the right to make the show Prime Video exclusive. Luckily, Amazon has not shown any interest in taking over the show from Netflix so fans can relax. Season 2 of Wednesday will return to Netflix.

The ongoing SAG AFTRA strike might delay the upcoming season. There are rumors that the show will be canceled if no deal or argument is reached by the end of this year. Catherine Zeta-Jones, who played Morticia Addams on the show hinted that the production of the show will start this year in the fall. However, if the production is not started by the end of this year, then season 2 will be delayed. Also, Netflix enraged SAG AFTRA writers and actors by announcing AI jobs. The new position of the Machine Learning team will be responsible for the algorithm helping viewers to pick the best program to watch. It pays around $900,000. It caused more outrage among the protestors. Netflix recently issues a public statement;

Jenna Ortega also revealed during her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that the writers have already discussed where the show will go in the next season. The actress will also appear in another Tim Burton project. Ortega will appear in Beetlejuice 2 alongside Winona Ryder.

This means that we will be seeing our favorite goth teen fighting new monsters. Also, Jenna Ortega does not want a love interest for Wednesday. She revealed that she had to fight with writers not to give Wednesday a love triangle. The actress also admitted changing the lines as she is “protective” of the character. Also, the actor wanted the show to have a darker tone.
So, if the writers manage to listen to Ortega’s comments the show’s second season will become as popular as the first one.
