‘Shark Boy and Lava Girl’ is getting a sequel “We Can Be Heroes”. The first movie was released 11 years ago. It was revealed a week ago on the official Twitter account of Netflix that there is going to be a new sequel releasing this year. The sequel’s title is “We Can Be Heroes”. However, Taylor Lautner is not going to come back for his iconic role of Shark boy. It is not known why he did not reprise his role of Shark Boy. He has not done anything major after his role in Twilight. Robert Rodriguez is the director of the sequel.
The ‘Shark Boy and Lava Girl’ is quite famous among the fans and it is quite shocking for them that they are finally getting a sequel of the iconic movie of 2005. However, some fans are quite dishearted that Taylor Lautner is not returning to play his iconic role. The film has a huge fan base, that is why this unexpected project has been quite surprising for them. But, Taylor Dooley is reprising her role of Lava Girl.
Who is going to play Shark Boy?
Shark boy is going to be played by J.J Dashnaw. He is mostly known as a stuntman. Robert Rodriguez is the director of the upcoming sequel. He said this about J.J Dashnaw’ role in the movie;
“Sharkboy and Lava Girl show up as superhero parents who now have a daughter who has shark and lava powers,” said Rodriguez. He later added that “the only speaking role is for Lavagirl.”
However, it is quite strange to imagine silent Shark boy, but fans are still happy for the upcoming sequel of the movie.
We Can Be Heroes Plot
There is going to be a time jump. Shrk boy and Lava girl have a kid in the sequel. The movie is going to focus on the time jump. However, they will save the day again with their superhero powers to summon sharks and creatures to save the day. There is not much revealed in the trailer about the plot of the upcoming sequel. Not much is revealed about the role of other big names in the movie like Priyanka Chopra and Christian slater.

However, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is also going to be in the movie along with Christian Slater as well. Vivien Lyra Blair is going to play the role of their daughter. She is known for her role in the Netflix movie Birdbox.
