Riverdale Season 4 released and the first episode was a little different than we expected. It was filled with a tribute to Luke Perry. They had to kill him off the show after he tragically passed earlier this year.

The Riverdale Season 4 Episode 1 was a major tribute and it was also filled with melancholy.

The episode opened with the students preparing for the senior year. They were doing their usuals at Pop’s Diner. Archie which is played KJ APA received a phone call from the police.

Fred Andrews(Archie’s Dad) was actually saving a stranded woman and died saving her. Shannen Doherty played as the motorist who Fred wanted to help. It was really sad and brave.

Tribute to Luke Perry

However, Archie was driven by anger and sadness. She found out who was the driver and then forgave him. He was also seen struggling with his grief. He denied to see the dead body of his dad and asked his friends to identify him.

They also showed all the people from the town gathering in the streets in order to mourn Fred. It warmed the hearts of all the people who watched Riverdale.

He was supported by his friends throughout the episode. Flashback of Luke perry was also displayed and shown throughout the episode.

The real pictures of Luke were also displayed and shown in the recent episodes which were very sad to see as a fan of Perry.

The boss and writer of Riverdale said this about adding Shannen in the show.

“Over the seasons, Luke and I had talked a lot about trying to get Shannen on the show, and the timing never worked out,” he explained.

The writer and the boss further said that how the timing matched for adding Shannen in the show It is quite sad, the actress felt devasted as well.

“Rather than have another actor play [this role], we thought it would be nice if it were someone he cared for in real life. And he cared so deeply about Shannen… She really wanted to be a part of it, from when we first talked to her about it.”

Riverdale season 4 really won many hearts by showing this soft side. The tribute was really needed.

“He’s always wanted to follow in Fred’s footsteps, but now feels that burden even more so,” he added.

Aguirre further gave his opinion on the latest episode of Riverdale.

“On the show, he’s always kind of been our moral center. We frequently describe him as the one good parent on Riverdale,” Aguirre-Sacasa explained, before adding that Archie (KJ Apa) will try to keep his dad’s spirit alive.

“He’s always wanted to follow in Fred’s footsteps, but now feels that burden even more so,” he added.

It was truly remarkable of all the cast as they gathered to mourn the death of Luke. We hope that the show will continue the legacy of Luke. We hope that the talented and amazing person like Rest in peace.
