“Rush Hour 4” is canceled according to Jackie Chan.

Rush hour 4 is not happening. There has been a lot of hype for the movie. People were truly excited for the fourth installment of the movie. Not only fans all around the internet showed their excitement, but Chris Tucker who also starred in the movie announced back in 2017 that there is a fourth installment of the movie. He also posted a picture that clearly hinted at the fourth installment on his Instagram.

Rush hour is considered one of the classic action movies. It’s rare when a Chinese and a black man duo on screen. It is their special bond that brings joy to the audience.

However, Chan has also hinted at the release of the 4th installment of the movie in his interviews. Everything seemed good and we thought all this time that they are working on the forth part. But it turns out that they are not anymore.

Not only they have dismissed the idea of the sequel. They have also issued a public statement on behalf of Jackie Chan. His team released the following statement.

“We have noted the false information that Mr. Chan would act in the motion pictures Rush Hour 4 and The Karate Kid 2 is spreading through multiple social media platforms, and that certain apparently infringing parties have misappropriated the personal WeChat and email accounts of Mr. Esmond Ren, a motion picture industry professional, to release false information concerning the hiring of the crew, casting, audition and other matters in connection with the pictures Rush Hour 4 and The Karate Kid 2,” they wrote.

Jackie Chan even said in one interview hinting to the release of Rush Hour 4.

In 2017, he spoke to Power 106 Los Angeles about a forthcoming sequel.

‘[It’s coming] next year,’ he said at the time. ‘For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed.’

Chris tucker also hinted about release of Rush Hour 4

Chris Tucker plays the role of Agent Carter in the movie. He hinted at a lot of interviews about the fourth installment. He seemed happy and excited in all of the interviews and it seems like everything was going great.

Chris said during an interview:

It’s not in pre-production,’ he explained. ‘We’re working on a few things [for] the script. Jackie wants to do it. I want to do it. The studio wants to do it.

So it is really strange why suddenly Jackie Chan’s team has released this statement. It clearly seems like both Jackie and Chris were prepared and excited about the sequel. Maybe they do not like the script and have a problem with direction? Or maybe something else. But fans are truly waiting and supporting both the actors.
