Should I Kill So Mi or Not in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty

One of the most appealing parts of Cyberpunk is the decision making, as you get to choose your dialogue and it changes the whole gameplay further on. In the later part of the game, you also get to decide on whether to kill So Mi or Not in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty.

As easy as it might sound, she is one of the closest characters in the game, therefore, making a decision can turn the whole thing upside down. But don’t worry, I am here to help you decide whether you should kill her or save her in the game.

Importance of So Mi in Cyberpunk

It is easier to first learn about the character and importance of the game before jumping to conclusions. So Mi is a charming runner, and also a NUSA analyst. She is quite smart and charming, helping V (you) out on various occasions throughout the whole game.

You might know her as Songbird in the game, which is a very dynamic and common name on the game’s tongue. Whatever the case may be, you will meet with Reed (Idris Elba) in the game and continue with his missions, leading you to the “Somewhat Damage” Mission.

This is the same mission where you are given a decision on whether to save Songbird (So Mi) or not, giving her in the hands of Reed, who ultimately kills her.

The importance of So Mi in Cyberpunk 2.0 Phantom Liberty is that she changes the ending of the game. If you save her by following the commands from Reed, things turn out different for you.

On the other side, she does want a good death and wants to just die in peace in the end, without getting tracked by the FIA often.

Should you Kill So Mi or Not in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty?

In our recommendation, you shouldn’t kill So Mi (Songbird) in Cyberpunk because you (V) need her to get the necessary aid from NUSA to cure the disease. Another thing you ought to understand is that she is a somewhat good person, and she earned a chance throughout your interactions. But that is my personal opinion, as killing her has its pathway as well. Let’s get to the details of both aspects below.

Sparing So Mi in Cyberpunk:

Don’t let So Mi die and a time skip will occur where Reed is happily taking you to the FBI agents, alongside President Myer. This time around, you are going to get 30k Euro Dollars instead of 5k from the other decision.

On top, you will earn a Presidential Medal and a Cure for your Disease, as well as So Mi’s cure.

Killing So Mi in Cyberpunk

When you kill Songbird (So Mi), Reed comes and starts crying. A time skip happens afterward that earns you 4k Eurodollars and nothing else. You were on a mission from Reed to Capture Songbird alive, which you failed in. In the end, you unlock the King of Cup Ending.

Decision on Should you Kill So Mi or Not in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty?

Killing So Mi vs Saving So Mi: What to Choose?

Honestly, there is no doubt after finding out what you earn by saving So Mi. When you Save So Mi (Songbird), you will be rewarded with the following;

  • 30k EuroDollar
  • Presidential Medal
  • Cure for Disease (Promised)
  • Songbird is yours!

On the other hand, when you kill So Mi or don’t save her, Reed is going to be angry at you, while there is going to be no cure, no presidential medal, and only 5K Euro Dollar.

Saving So Mi in Cyberpunk is a better decision as you get more Eurodollar, a Presidential Medal and Cure
