Select Performance Mode

If you have a Nvidia GPU, you can head over to the Nvidia Control panel by right-clicking on the desktop. Then, from there, you can go to the 3D Game Options, and select The Day Before from there.

After the game is selected, you can proceed down, and find the settings that allow you to change the performance. Select the “Prefer Maximum Performance” to enable the Performance Mode for the game.

Lock FPS to 60 Frames Per Second

  • Right Click on “The Day Before”
  • Click on Properties
  • Go to the Files Tab
  • Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files

Update GPU Drivers

This one is rare in the scenario but could be the culprit. When your system hasn’t had a GPU Driver update in a while, it can also result in the Game Crashing on Startup and Loading Screen.

  • For Nvidia, you can download the Drivers from Nvidia Experience.
  • For AMD, you can download the Drivers from AMD Adrenaline or through the manual method.
  • Search “Updates” on Windows and let it load up all the latest updates available.

Close and Restart the Game/Launcher

Steam Launcher is always running in the background, even if you close it on the screen. Whenever a game is launched on Steam, you will have to close and restart it. Right-click on the taskbar, below, on your Windows, and then select Task Manager.

Here, you need to find a Steam Launcher and close everything that is related to them. Then, restart your system once, and when you are back, you need to start the launcher.

Start The Day Before and you won’t have the issue of the game not starting.

Disable Antivirus and Firewall Protection

Antivirus takes all the measures to stop the malware and virus-flagged files. While it is perfect in doing so, it is not perfect in flagging files. Sometimes the Antivirus will flag your in-game files and software as potential viruses and malware as well.
